Zev Burrows, composer

 

Zev Burrows is a composer for film, musical theatre, television, and production music libraries.

A graduate of Berklee College of Music, he has had his original compositions featured on major network and cable television channels including PBS, NBC, ABC, Netflix, and Paramount, and has composed the scores for many award-winning projects.

His musical The Pledge (book & lyrics by Mark Evan Chimsky) was selected for the Madison New Works Lab at James Madison University in 2019, and his ten-minute musical J & Dot (book & lyrics by Mark Evan Chimsky) tied for “Best Play” in the Equity Library Theater’s Summer 2020 Virtual Play Festival.

He regularly composes for the production music libraries MPATH Music Library, MIBE Music, 4 Elements Music, and Velvet Green Music, the latter of which released Zev’s first two albums, “Diamond in the Rough” and “Pillows & Ice Picks.”

His short musical Albert (book & lyrics by Mark Evan Chimsky) will be given a staged reading by the Left Coast Theatre Co. in San Francisco in 2021.

A member of ASCAP and the Dramatists Guild, Zev resides in New York City.
